THE wonderful team at Ash Veterinary Surgery in Merthyr Tydfil donated £75 to the British Hen Welfare Trust, despite having its charity tin stolen.
We were saddened to hear that a burglary had taken place at the surgery, and that several charity tins, including one for the BHWT, had been stolen back in April.
However, determined the charities should not lose out, the surgery decided to donate £450 to be split between all the charities affect – and donated £75 to the BHWT.
Rachel Thomas, vet and owner of the surgery, told the Wales Online: “We are saddened that charities intent on doing their best for animals should lose out and therefore the surgery will be making a donation out of its own pocket to each of the charities affected.
“We don’t see why the charities or animals should suffer because of our bad luck.”
It goes without saying that we are incredibly grateful the surgery decided to donate to us despite the burglary.
