In celebration of World Egg Day, today, Omlet will be donating £50 from every Eglu sold to the British Hen Welfare Trust, and hopes to raise thousands for the charity! All monies raised will help the charity to help even more hens enjoy a free range retirement.
Since launching in 2004 Omlet have sold over 35,000 Eglus and estimates that approximately 105,000 chickens call an Eglu a home. Over the years these lucky chickens have produced at least 88 million eggs that have been enjoyed poached, boiled and fried, turned into birthday cakes, wedding cakes, soufflés and of course Omlettes!
As part of British Egg week, (5 – 11 October) which kicks off today, hen welfare charity, the British Hen Welfare Trust has taken the opportunity to focus on some of the big name ‘good eggs’ and ‘bad eggs’ using eggs and egg products?
As well as finding homes for hens, the charity educates the public on how they can make a difference to hen welfare through their shopping basket and encourages individuals to check the food labels.
