Challenge yourself!

If baking isn’t your thing and you’re looking to indulge in some adventure instead, perhaps consider taking part in a challenge event. From trekking across beautiful British countryside to jumping out of a plane or husky sledding across Norway, the choice of what challenge to undertake is completely up to you.

Challenge events really are quite special – not only are you raising money to save the lives of thousands of hens across the UK, but you will also be taking part in a once in a lifetime experience.

We work closely with Global Adventure Challenges to bring you a range of events, but these are just a small handful of the challenges available. Whether you take on a challenge through GAC or there is something in particular you’ve been aiming for, the opportunities are endless.

Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 100

Follow in the tyre tracks of the London 2012 Olympians through the lovely Surrey countryside, finishing your ride at The Mall in London. We have just one place available on this challenging 100 mile cycle, so if you’re interested, get in touch soon! Upon successful application of our official BHWT place in the ride, you will receive a special magazine with training tips, nutritional advice and route guidance.

Please contact us if you are interested in taking part in this Prudential RideLondon event. Just email fundraise@bhwt.co.uk or call 01884 860084 and select fundraising.

TrekFest 2017

TrekFest truly embraces the weekend festival experience with camping, refreshments throughout and even hot showers! You will also receive a high level of support prior to and during the event (training guides, fundraising tips, 15% off Cotswold Outdoors and medical support). Afterwards, you will receive a medal and a celebratory drink!

You have a choice between two trek lengths (25k or 50k) and two stunning national parks:

  • The Brecon Beacons (3-4 June)
  • The Peak District (2-3 September)

Great Wall of China Trek (28 October – 5 November 2017)

This is a fantastic five day trek along the magnificent Great Wall, over watchtowers and mountains, through historic battlements and to the top of the ‘Heavenly Ladder’ at Mutianyu. You will place your own brick in a section that is currently being restored, ensuring your imprint is left on the Wall forever – a very special privilege, unique to Global Adventure Challenges.

If cycling is more your thing, we also have three fantastic biking challenges – London to Paris, the Edinburgh Night Ride and the Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 100.

London to Paris

This 295 mile, four day bike ride takes you through beautiful Kent countryside to Dover, before crossing the Channel to Calais. The route goes along quiet French country lanes, through traditional market towns with views of the rolling, green fields of northern France, passing the war memorials and cemeteries of the Somme. A stunning route, not to be missed.

Please contact us if you are interested in taking part in the London to Paris ride.

Edinburgh Night Ride

If you’ve never visited Edinburgh before, this is definitely the best way to experience this wonderful city. Whilst cycling the 50 mile route, you will witness the beautiful coastal sunset and pedal through historical Georgian streets under the stars.

And now for something completely different…

None of the above take your fancy? Nothing to satisfy your sense of adventure? Perhaps you would consider sledding with huskies across Norway and into Sweden, finishing with a celebratory meal at the Ice Hotel in Jukkasjarvi. Or white water rafting down the Zambezi in Zambia, starting at the incredible Victoria Falls and finishing with a helicopter flight back up the gorge!
