Free Range Friday

Free Range Friday is the British Hen Welfare Trust’s first ever national campaign which encourages people to get their family, friends, colleagues and communities together to eat cake and raise funds for the charity.

This year we are focusing on some special dates throughout the year to give you inspiration, our next one is at Easter time, perfect for lots of chocolate! We’re holding our event on Good Friday (14 April) but you can hold yours whenever suits you – it doesn’t even have to be a Friday!

Other dates include:

  • Summer picnic: Friday, 16 June or Friday, 23 June
  • British Hen Welfare Day: Friday, 22 September
  • Halloween: Friday, 27 October
  • Christmas: Friday, 1 December (or any Friday during December which takes your fancy!)

As always you are welcome to hold your own event any date you like!

Since Free Range Friday began we have had some wonderful ideas from all of our lovely supporters.  From a posh afternoon tea in honour of the Queen’s 90th Birthday last year held in Germany by Yvonne Brunotte to a Chicken Run themed movie night, you can be as creative as you like when holding your Free Range Friday.  All we ask is that all the products you are selling/baking are made with free range eggs and that you send us some lovely pictures of your event.

This Easter is the perfect time to host your own Free Range Friday and we have a wonderful prize to tempt you!  Choccywoccydoodah have offered up an egg box of 6 of their delicious Easter Eggs as a very yummy first prize!
