Nancy – from Charlotte Miles
We had to take Nancy to the vets on New Years’ Eve 2016 to be put to sleep. She had a tumour, and as always, we are very sad.
She was my favourite of the Bake Off girls and one of my “specials.” I called her Nancy Nancini.
She was the first hen that I owned that went broody too, puffing up and clucking like a little brush turkey.
She was the smallest of the four but not at the bottom of the pecking order.
She went from a small pale girl with a big comb to a healthy and bright inquisitive food loving girl. She had a sixth sense about the mealworm packet!
If you would like to share your happy memories of a special girl, you can send us a photo of your hen, together with up to 100 words and a donation to BHWT to Hope Chapel, Rose Ash, South Molton, Devon, EX36 4RF. Alternatively, you can use the form below and send us your donation online.
