Liz Cox in Sittingbourne was ‘persuaded’ by
her granddaughters to hold a
Free Range
at her home. The girls, Katie and
Annabel, have a flock of ex-bat chickens
and wanted to help raise funds for us. They
produced an eye - catching poster inviting
their friends to tea and spent the morning
cooking delicious cakes and biscuits for their
guests and raised £35 for ‘our girls’. Thank
you very much!
A big thank you also to Jane Gimpel who
held her
Free Range Friday
in her local
village hall. She spent a lot of time
decorating the hall with balloons and
pictures which I am sure was appreciated by
the 30 guests who attended and who were
eager to find out more about BHWT. Jane
and guests raised over £120 including Gift
Fourteen year 11 pupils at York
High School, organised by their
teacher Abbie Cross, created some
luscious looking cakes to sell to
their school friends. They thought
that they had made more than
enough cakes, but sold out within 15
minutes!! Hardly surprising when
you see how tempting they look!!
They raised a brilliant £43.30... pretty
good for quarter of an hour’s work!
So far you have raised over £4,000 by holding
Free Range Friday
vents. On behalf of the hens you are helping, thank you!
