od Eggs (RS)
Victoria Connelly
Long term supporter, hen lover, and bestselling author of romantic comedies,
Victoria Connelly very kindly set up her own JustGiving page at
nd asked supporters to donate £5 in
return for an acknowledgement in her next e-book,
A Year at Mulberry
cottage’. What an eggsellent idea!
This will be Victoria’s second in the series of
Mulberry Cottage’
books and features her
own little flock of BHWT ex-bat hens:
Dotty, Minnie, Alice, Mariette, Primrose
and Little Flo. So far Victoria’s page has
raised £86 and the donations keep
coming! Thank you so much Victoria and
all those who appear in Mulberry cottage
Part II!
Wendy Cobourne
Wendy, (aka ‘chicken woman’ locally), sold eggs and cakes using an honesty box for
donations at her local community cafe and church. The Vicar met Wendy’s hens and
no doubt sampled the cakes; they all evidently attracted a lot of attention as Wendy
raised a splendid £72.30. What can we say Wendy? Well done and thank you!
Naomi and Michelle
And finally our very own Naomi Oxborough, who
has been with the charity for just over a year,
completed the Bath Half Marathon in March with
brilliant BHWT Co-ordinator for Cornwall, Michelle
Ward. Not only did they raise £1,390, they were
overwhelmed by well-wishers egging them on along
the 21.1km course. Having felt the ‘pain’ but loved
the buzz, Naomi is now looking for more would be
chicken runners (chicken outfit not obligatory!), so
please get in touch with her if you think you can
add to the funds raised by these two spring
chickens. Email
give her a call on 01884 860084. Oh and by the
way, you can find out more about fun runs local to
you here
What better
way to tone up in time for the beach?!!
