A New Scottish Flock
We’re delighted to be back in action with another flock of keen and dedicated
volunteers in Scotland following Jim Duff’s retirement due to work commitments. Jim
helped set us up in Scotland in 2008 and the team helped almost 10,000 lucky hens.
New Co-ordinator, Cheryl Binnie who is based in St Andrews, Fife heads up the new
team and we retain the valued support of local SSPCA wildlife expert, Louise Seddon,
as well as Mary Jane Salisbury and partner, David Letford, both of whom moved up
from the south where they had previously helped our local Berkshire team. They were
all thrilled to be back in action in June when 600 hens came out from a local colony
farm.
Cheryl told us: “It was a brilliant day, the new team worked their socks off to make sure
the hens were all sent on their way to a wonderful new free range life. I don’t know
who was more excited the hens or the people adopting them!”
