Acorn Vets
Supporter Karen Belton got her
workplace buzzing with free range
goodness towards the end of last year
when she held a
Free Range Friday
in
the surgery. The lovely nurses got baking
loads of cakes including, muffins,
cupcakes, flapjacks and uplands biscuits
plus much more! All the customers got
involved and the four legged customers
were kept well away from the goodies to
avoid cake mayhem. It was reported
that even the lady in the music shop
across the road came back a number of
times until ALL the uplands biscuits had
gone! We think we might start asking for
samples … Acorn vets raised a hefty £75 so
thank you one and all!
The Ferris Family
Regular BHWT champions, the Ferris family from Nailsea in North Somerset, often donate to the
BHWT, but in Autumn last year they decided to go a bit further and hold a
Free Range
Friday
.
They raised not only valuable funds of £111, they raised awareness too. The Ferris family
were also the lucky winners of our September/October competition and won an Egg Skelter!
Anyone for cake?
On the subject of winners, Laura McCulloch
bagged herself some wonderful Regatta
goodies after
raising an amazing
£360 through
cake sales! Laura held her second
Free Range
Friday
at work at the end of last year in the
Hampshire County Council offices. Laura
baked delicious cakes using eggs from her
BHWT hens, sent invitations to colleagues and
ended up with a steady queue at her desk all
day long! And no wonder, just look at this cake
making talent!
