In some cultures Friday is considered unlucky; indeed in maritime circles superstition states that it is
unlucky to start a voyage on a Friday. In the Hebrides, however, Friday is considered a lucky day
for sowing seed and Good Friday is a popular day in folklore for planting potatoes. To us, of
course,
Friday
is all about cooking and baking, and taking part in our
Free Range Friday
!
Since we hatched our
Free Range Friday
campaign hundreds of you have raised thousands of
pounds and baked mountains of cakes at home, at work and at school. There’s no doubt about it
-
we have some eggstraordinary supporters out there.

has 10 hens housed in what can only be described as a hen
haven, and he recently proved that he has hen welfare at heart when he gave a talk to fellow
pupils and staff at Denstone College nr Uttoxeter - all 800 of them! Oliver raised a hefty £157 with
his
Free Range Friday,
proving he’s a passionate advocate for hens.
