BHWT North Lincolnshire
Meet Team North Lincolnshire led by Steve Breach, our Co-ordinator for the past three
years. In Steve’s day job he’s a Dog Trainer, Behaviourist and Nutritionist and he manages
The Dog Adventure Centre in Swinderby where his team also hold the re-homing day hen
Steve has five dogs: Honey Bee, Alfred, Bumble, Labus and Benji; three cats: Tinkerbell,
Tilly & Frodo and eight ex-bats. Steve and partner, Laura, have recently got engaged and
insist the animals will all be involved in the wedding next year as their entire lives revolve
around them!
Steve’s brilliant team all participate, and are involved in every aspect of the re-homings,
collecting them from the farms, and transporting them back to the Centre where they are
unloaded and given their first taste of fresh air and freedom. The team then get stuck into
tea and cakes before all their lovely re-homers arrive to adopt their new pets.
Steve and his team pride themselves on their organised and friendly approach to the day,
answering questions and giving practical advice. In Steve’s own words: “
An average
re-homing day involves changing the lives of around 400 hens and the team has so much
fun and such pleasure in helping all the chooks find their new lives. The team come from all
walks of life but have one thing in common, compassion for animals.”
These Meet the Team slots
cover me in goosebumps … got them right now! I just
feel so lucky to have such wonderful volunteers in this charity.
