Christmas is around the corner which means plenty of indulgence. From mince pies to Yorkshire puds, Christmas cake to mulled wine, we all love to enjoy ourselves during the festive period.

However, if it all leaves you feeling a bit sluggish, and in need of a new fitness regime, why not consider signing up to run for the BHWT? We have guaranteed places in two fantastic events in 2019 or alternatively you can enter a race of your choice and fundraise for us!

If you’ve no idea where to start, check out the Runners World event page, where you can search for races based on location, distance and even terrain type. The Runners World site is also a great resource for runners of all levels and abilities, and features training plans for beginners right up to those who are running ultra marathons and beyond.

If you’re a more experienced runner, or are in need of a new challenge, the BHWT has places in two great races next year. Simply email megan.holland@bhwt.co.uk if either of the events below take your fancy.

Brighton Marathon

Taking place on Sunday, 14 April 2019 the Brighton Marathon is a fast, flat route taking in the beautiful seaside of Brighton. The race has grown to become Europe’s 12th largest marathon and, as such, attracts runners from all around the world. It has great crowd support and spectacular scenery, making it a popular option for those looking to run their first marathon (or their 10th!).

The BHWT has five places available; however with four spots already taken we have just one left! So be quick if you want to blag yourself a spot. Email megan.holland@bhwt.co.uk for more info.

Great North Run

This half marathon race will take place in Newcastle on Sunday, 8 September 2019 and sees runners directed through the city centre and along the River Tyne and on to Gateshead. The event is well supported and even features bands along its route!

Again, if this takes your fancy simply email megan.holland@bhwt.co.uk for more information.
