We’re thrilled that Support Adoption for Pets, an animal rescue and pet adoption charity governed by Pets at Home, have kindly granted us £9,600 to spend on improving the way we rehome hens during COVID-19!
These funds will be used to buy approximately 25,000 recycled–and recyclable–poultry carriers, which will allow our teams to have hens boxed up and ready to load straight into our adopters vehicles. This will go a long way to keeping all volunteers and adopters safe during our rehoming day, and significantly mitigate any COVID-19 transmission risk. Plus it’ll relieve any potential stress to the hens by getting them to their new homes faster than ever before. We call it Cluck and Collect – and the hens call it Cluckeriffic!
