Leaving A Gift In Your Will

A gift in your will is one of the most valuable ways you can help to save 50,000 hens from slaughter each year, find them caring pet homes and enjoy a free range retirement.  We make every penny we receive work for the benefit of these humble creatures through our positive campaigns and our educational work. Making a Will is the only way you can be sure that the money you leave benefits the people and causes that really matter to you and remember too that money you leave to charity is not taxable.

It is thanks to the support we receive in people’s wills that we can continue so much of our work.  Andrea McPhillips is someone who has decided to leave a gift in her will. She said: “I have decided to leave a legacy gift to the BHWT in my Will.  I’ve volunteered for the charity for many years now so I’ve seen the good work that they do and I know that efforts they put in to use every penny wisely.  Small growing charities like the British Hen Welfare Trust often lose out to larger, higher profile ones.  A legacy however small is really important to help safeguard the future of the charity and its wonderful work.”

There are many different ways of supporting the British Hen Welfare Trust in your Will, once you have looked after your nearest and dearest. You could leave a specific gift of money, a share of your total estate, or even an item of property or stocks and shares. It all makes a real difference and will help save thousands of hens in the future. It truly is a legacy that will change lives.

We are always so very grateful to everyone who includes us and this is a useful statement to use in your will if you do decide to leave us a Gift:
