Back in April, for Easter, Culture Label ran a wonderful Egg Auction for us which raised an amazing £888.25! Jane Howorth MBE, Founder of the British Hen Welfare Trust, said: “The money raised from the auction will be put towards building the very first BHWT Welfare and Education Centre which will serve as a dedicated re-homing point for us in Devon as well as a space for educating children, businesses, veterinary professionals and individuals about our feathered friends. After all, everything we do is for them!”
There were 12 wooden eggs, each hand decorated by a famous artist, which were then auctioned off, with this colourful egg by David Shillinglaw selling for £310!
Our favourite has to be Holly Frean’s chicken themed egg which sold for £260!
Lucy Baxter from Culture Label said, “We really enjoyed running this auction – all 12 eggs sold with some going for over £300 each! The re-homing and education centre sounds wonderful and we are really happy that we were able to contribute to its realisation!”
There is potential that Culture Label would be keen to run the auction again so watch this space for another chance to own one of these striking egg masterpieces!
