I have been keeping hens in my back garden since 2004. I have a mixture of rescued hens from the BHWT and some I had bought previously from other sources. All my hens stay with me for life however long that might be. They have 2 runs, one which is paved and one which is on soil, they are allowed out onto the garden when it is safe for them to do so.
