Welfare and Education Centre
The British Hen Welfare Trust is currently building the UK’s first dedicated Hen Welfare and Education Centre to provide not only a dedicated rehoming base in Devon, but also a space for holding educational talks and performing pioneering operations on hens.
We’re yet to raise the money needed to buy specialist equipment for our hen hospital, which will provide treatment for poorly hens and facilitate ground-breaking research for vets to utilise in their clinics. And those of us who have sought veterinary support for our pet hens will know how badly this is needed.
Your donation will help us purchase important equipment such as an operating table, an examination light and recovery bays for treating hens, plus coops to allow them to rest and recover.
What will your money pay for?
Your money could allow us to purchase the following, and remember, a donation above £100 secures your name on a plaque in the centre!
- £100 – spaying kit for chickens
- £150 – weighing scales
- £500 – anaesthetic trolley
- £750 – controlled drugs cabinet
- £1,000 – examination light
- £4,000 – a block of two recovery bays
