Become a Volunteer
If you're a hen lover and have a bit of spare time on your hands, we'd love to hear from you. Volunteering with the charity is an incredibly rewarding thing to do and there are many ways you can help. Whether you're hands on with hens, helping us fundraise, or teaching the younger generation about our feathered friends, you'll be making an invaluable contribution to the charity and helping us save even more lives.
Broadly speaking, the three main areas in which we require volunteers are re-homing, learning and fundraising. You can find out more about each role and what it involves by clicking on the relevant links below. This will also take you to a form to fill in.
You can also read our Day in the Life of a Co-ordinator article to find out a bit more about what volunteering involves.
We are always in need of learning volunteers, so would love to hear from you if you think this is a way you could help.
Please note, if you are applying to become a re-homing volunteer, we cannot guarantee we will be able to immediately place you within one of our re-homing teams, many of which are oversubscribed. However, we always love to hear from people passionate about helping our hens, so please do apply as normal - there may be lots of other ways you can help us!
We need education volunteers to lead workshops to help primary school pupils (aged 4 – 11) explore egg production and animal welfare topics .
If you're passionate about getting hands on with hens then we'd love to hear from you.
